Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has invited Labour party presidential candidate Peter Obi to launch a project in Rivers.

The announcement was made by Yunusa Tanko, a spokesperson for the LP Council’s presidential campaign, on his Twitter account on Sunday.

Tanko, who posted the invitation flyer on his site, said LP was getting closer to taking back Nigeria for Nigerians.

The project to be opened to Nkpolu-Oroworukwo flyover bridge, and the opening ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Nkpolu-Oroworukwo Junction, Ikwerre Road, Phalga, Rivers State.

Tanko tweeted: We will proceed obediently and Yusfuly. Aim for Aso Villa.”

This is not the first time Wike has invited opposition lawmakers to launch a project in Rivers.

In August Rivers state governor invited his Lagos state counterpart Babaji sanwolu to launch the Orochiri Wolkwo (waterline crossing) flyover at PortHarcourt.

Also in October, Wike accepted an invitation from the Lagos state government to attend a women’s conference, where he endorsed Sanwolu, the second-term gubernatorial candidate for the All Progressive Party Congress. Wike and his four other PDP governors, known as the G5, said the party’s national leader Iyorchia Ayou, saying that northerners should not be the PDP’s national leader and presidential candidate. For months, the crisis rocked the People’s Democratic Party as it called for Mr. Ayu’s resignation.

Other G5 governors are: Seyi Makinde from Oyo State. Okezie Ikpeazu from Abia State. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi from Enugu State and Samuel Ortom of Benue state.
