TOPIC:Break Out of the Box
Mark 8:22–23, NIVThey came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village.
In today’s Scripture, when a blind man was brought to Jesus, He led him outside the village and then healed him. Why did Jesus take him outside the village? He could have healed the man right there among the people. Perhaps, it was because this blind man was in a negative environment, surrounded by people who had accepted mediocrity and dysfunction. Perhaps, some of those who were there were saying, “You’ve been blind your whole life. Do you really think you’re going to get well because a few friends hope it’s true?” Maybe Jesus had to take him outside the village so he wouldn’t get talked out of his miracle.
Sometimes you have to get out of a negative environment to see God’s favor in a new way. Sometimes you have to break out of the box that people try to keep you in. Don’t let the limitations of those around you hold you down. Outside the box is your miracle and destiny.
Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I can break out of the box of limitations that other people try to keep me in or that I’ve accepted as the way it is. Thank You that I can follow You outside a negative environment that tries to talk me out of my miracle. I believe You can do it. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
