Godwin Emefiele, the governor of Nigeria’s central bank, has made the announcement that President Buhari will issue the new naira notes on November 23rd, 2022.
This occurs well in advance of the earlier planned date, which is December 15, 2022.During his media briefing at the monetary policy announcement on November 22, 2022, the governor made this clear.
Additionally, Mr. Emefiele insisted that there is no reversal of the January 31st data to ensure that all previous currencies lose their status as legal tender.Additionally, Mr. Emefiele stated that he is relying on their law to advance this policy.
In addition, he expressed gratitude to Buhari for his assistance over the past seven and a half years and emphasized the president’s support for the new naira policy, which he has twice endorsed in media statements.

The new Nigerian currency notes and the FEC chambers will be unveiled by the President by 10 a.m. tomorrow, November 23.
